The skull warbonnet is our first 3D sculpted design because we’ve never received more requests for any other design.  There’s just something powerful about it that seems to connect with so many people.  For this design, I wanted it to look similar to a fossil.  In that way, it can have the appearance of being excavated or it can look like it’s carved from rock.  This emblem will fit perfectly into the embossed area of the Indian Scout mid-frame just below the seat and can be installed with 3M emblem tape or with a pliable silicone adhesive (your choice).

Material: A durable resin, painted charcoal black to match the Scout frame.  Can be painted on if you design to custom paint it yourself.

How to Install: Method 1:  Clean the mid-frame area of the bike of dirt and debris before installation.  We recommend using a alcohol swab.  Peel and stick 3M emblem tape on the reverse side of the emblem.  Press into place on bike frame and hold firmly in place for 30 seconds or more.  Allow tape adhesive to cure for 1-3 hours before riding to ensure a strong bond. 

We've all looked at the beautiful frame of the Indian Scout and saw the potential for adding custom graphics or emblems to the embossed / inset areas.  Now we've created these weatherproof heavy-duty laminated vinyl decals to fill those spaces for a unique custom look.  These aren't emblems that require special adhesives or materials.  They are hi-tack vinyl designed with 3 dimensional graphics to have the appearance of emblems but with ease of cleaning and maintenance.  Just peel them off their backing and stick them to a cleaned frame.

After multiple reports from customers, I’ve discovered that the factory finishing process on the Scout engines varies more than anticipated. While the black-coated surface is consistently present, the bare metal accents are manually ground down at the factory, and the level of grinding differs significantly from bike to bike. This results in variations in width, length, and positioning that I hadn’t encountered in other motorcycle models using the same accent kit design.
When I originally created the template, I used an in-shop Scout engine as the reference, but because of the inconsistent factory finishing, some customers are experiencing partial exposure of the bare metal accents beyond the kit’s coverage area. Additionally, the left-side horizontal accents on many Scouts are shorter than the right side by approximately 12-14mm, which required a unique two-piece installation approach. While that adjustment worked in many cases, the additional issue of varying grinding depths has made it impossible to ensure a consistent, proper fit for all bikes.
Because of this, I’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue this product for the Scout lineup to avoid further frustration. Some customers get a perfect fit. Others may find that some of the bare metal is still visible.

Material Finish: an enamel-like finish. I wouldn't classify it as gloss or matte. Similar to egg-shell finish.

 Installation: 

This video shows installation on an Indian Challenger but the process is the same on the Scout.

These accents will need to be installed on a warm, clean, and dry engine. Do not attempt to install them cold or with condensation on the surface. You can run your bike to get the engine warm, but not hot, or use a hair dryer/heat gun. Installing these in winter months will be more difficult. Use scissors to separate each individual piece from the sheet. A pair of tweezers can be helpful to hold the accents in proper placement during installation. Once in place, use a firm object to press/rub over the full surface before peeling off the top transfer layer. Go slow while peeling the transfer layer. If the accent peels up without separating from the transfer, place it back down and press it more firmly into place.

Weatherproof HD Gloss finish vinyl decals are self adhesive.  We recommend using the wet method to install these decals:  A spray bottle with water and dish soap can be used to wet the surface and the back of the decal, allowing you to slide the decal into place.  Once you have it aligned properly, use your thumbs to push the moisture out from behind the decal, working from the center outwards to the edges and it will adhere to your bike.  Using the wet method allows the decal surface to evenly distribute over the curved surface.  A hair dryer to apply heat will make the process easier since the vinyl becomes more soft and flexible when warm.

“Spirit of the West" Black & White - Scout Tank Decals for all Models of Indian Scout

This artwork is meant to invoke the spirit of wild open America.

These decals were designed to cover the original headdress on Indian Motorcycles but can be used by any brand or model of bike.

If you have an Indian Scout, we recommend purchasing our Scout version which is slightly smaller in order fit on the tank side without extending over the border.

Size: 22.82 x 6.43" inches - Sized to cover as much of the side panel of the Indian Scout tank as possible. There is a possibility that the Scout model that has a pinstripe around the edge of the tank may show partially.

“Odin's Ravens" Tank Decal set for all models of the Indian Scout

The artwork for these decals was sponsored by Tyler Cramer.  Featuring Odin's two ravens, Huginn and Muninn (one for each side of the tank).

Size: Covers the full tank side of ALL Indian Scout models.  If you have a model with a tank graphic that is really close to the edges of the tank, a very small portion of that graphic may show around the edge of the decal. The "Helm of Awe" will wrap slightly over the top of the tank to create depth.

This design was custom commissioned and our client has graciously allowed us to share it with other customers.

We recommend using the wet method to install larger decals:  A spray bottle with water and dish soap can be used to wet the tank and the back of the decal, allowing you to slide the decal into place.  To get the proper soap/water mix, start with a squirt of soap into your spray bottle.  Shake it up and then spray it on your hand.  Rub your finger tips together.  You should feel the slipperiness of the soap.  If it just feels like water, add more soap and try again.  Once you have it aligned properly, use a squeegee or some non-abrasive tool (even your fingers) to push the moisture out from behind the decal and it will adhere to your tank. A plastic putty scraper with a thin cloth wrapped around it will work great and prevent scratching your decals.
